Brady Tkachuk Getting National Recognition At NHL Four Nations Faceoff

We’ve reached the finale of the tournament, where Canada and the USA will face off one more time to take home the trophy.

Ottawa Senators fans have long been aware of what Brady Tkachuk brings to the table, but this tournament seems to be shedding light on just how impactful he is on a national level.

He has been one of the most important players for the Americans in this tournament. The energy and physicality he has brought have been outstanding, and he’s also put up points to go with it.

So let’s take a look at Tkachuk’s tournament so far. Let’s find out why, yet again, fanbases of 31 other NHL teams are drawing up mock trades for the Senators’ captain—who, for the record, is going nowhere.

Brady Tkachuk Shows Out Against Finland

The first game of the tournament for the United States was against Team Finland. It was close through two periods, but the game became a blowout in the third, as the U.S. went on to win 6-1.

Before the game turned into a rout, when it was still close, Brady Tkachuk was an absolute game-changer. He scored his team’s first goal of the tournament against Juuse Saros, and he wasn’t done.

Tkachuk added another goal later with a beautiful backhand move. Scoring twice in his first game was already a huge statement, but what stood out even more was the energy and emotion he brought.

He was running over the Finns left, right, and center. He played as if it were Game 7, and the fans watching took notice.

People praised him like never before, and, of course, the ridiculous mock trades started pouring in again.

Brady Tkachuk was awarded the second star of the game, behind only his brother Matthew.

However, in the locker room, the Americans gave Tkachuk the honor of housing Johnny Gaudreau’s jersey in his locker—a team tradition recognizing the player of the game.

For Brady Tkachuk, it had to be one of the greatest honors of his career. But he was just getting started.

Brady Tkachuk Takes Spotlight Against Canada

One of the greatest hockey games in history had to be the Saturday night showdown between Canada and the United States.

As Senators fans, most reading this are likely Canadian, and while the result wasn’t ideal, the game itself was incredible.

The most memorable moment occurred just nine seconds in. Of course, I’m talking about the three fights—one of which involved Brady Tkachuk right in the middle of the chaos.

The emotion in the air was electric, and once again, Tkachuk was at the heart of it all. Somehow, in a matter of seconds, he had managed to outdo himself from Game 1 to Game 2.

Tkachuk didn’t register any points in Game 2, but his impact was undeniable. Once again, he was hitting everything in sight. And once again, every hockey fan took notice.

By the end of the game, the hype surrounding Tkachuk was through the roof. He had quickly become one of the biggest faces of Team USA in the tournament.

With this tournament emulating playoff-style hockey, Senators fans couldn’t be more excited. Brady Tkachuk has proven that he elevates his game under the brightest lights.

Brady Tkachuk Injury Against Sweden

The United States played one more game after that, taking on Team Sweden. The game itself didn’t hold much significance, as the finals were already set in stone.

Brady Tkachuk, unfortunately, left early with an apparent leg/knee injury. Luckily for Team USA—and Senators fans—the injury doesn’t appear to be serious.

Tkachuk Likely Good To Go Thursday

As things stand, he’s expected to be in the lineup on Thursday for the championship game.

Even in a meaningless game, Tkachuk played as if his life depended on it. He was still throwing hits and playing his relentless style, despite the game having little impact on the tournament’s outcome.

At this point, every non-Senators fan is salivating over the idea of Tkachuk in their team’s jersey.

But as we know, he’s not going anywhere. His performance in this tournament has simply reaffirmed how underrated he has been.

It’s great to see Brady Tkachuk finally getting the international recognition he deserves.

This hasn’t been a coming-out party—he’s been elite for years—but the level of attention he’s receiving now is unlike anything we’ve seen in his career so far.
